A Tribute to the Ethiopian Defense Forces. Words are sometimes simply not enough to express events. There are times when words do not work together in congruence with the mind to bring out the emotions, the radiant happy faces, the thrill of triumph, the agony of loss of a brave compatriot in a line of duty and the expression of eternal gratitude a citizen pays to a defender of a country.

Prime Minister Meles Zenawi pledged to explore all means to peacefully resolve the bitter standoff between his country, which backs the interim government in Somalia, and the Islamists, who control much of southern Somalia. The Islamists have declared jihad against Ethiopia, accusing it of sending troops into Somalia to prop up the government. .."It is our country that is being attacked. Naturally, we do not seek any light, green, red or yellow from anyone to protect ourselves," Meles told a news conference. Why disseminate false information?

In fact the card is not an ID card of a soldier who surrendered at Babile recently, but a medal certificate of a deserter (according to Ogaden Online). The deserter was in the port town of Bosasso, sometime in 2002 or 2003, trying to emigrate to Yemen or elsewhere overseas.

Condemn the Arab League's stance on Somalia:
By Matthew Mainen January 8, 2007
Countries such as

Arabia
and Sudan claim not only to understand international law but also to follow
it. Of course, such countries have broken nearly every international
convention on human rights, but for these countries to demonstrate outright
disdain for the very foundation of international law is reprehensible. It is
disheartening that no government, international organization or politician
has had the courage to condemn the Arab League's stark hypocrisy.
